Zipping and Extracting Files

• Creating and extracting zipped files in Windows XP   

   Back when Windows 98 ruled the computer world, users found the only way they could open or create zipped folders was by using a 3rd party program like “WinZip” or “CoffeeCup Wizard.” These programs are no longer necessary if you are using Windows XP or Vista. When Windows XP was introduced, it came with a built-in zipping utility. Here are directions on how to create and extract zipped folders without using 3rd party software.
