Microsoft Office 2007
Switching From Double Spacing to Single Spacing
One of the first things you probably noticed when you used Microsoft Word 2007 is that it automatically double-spaces everything you type! When you hit the return (or enter) key, your next line is automatically double-spaced! This is great for students writing reports, but what about employees who are trying to type business documents that don’t need to be double-spaced?

Step 1: Click the Line Spacing button on the Paragraph tab, then choose “Line Spacing Options”.

Step 2: Click the line spacing drop down menu and choose “single”.

Step 3: In the After box, type a “0”

Step 4: You could hit “OK” right now, but it would only affect the current document you’re working on. If you don’t want to have to ever put up with the double spacing fiasco again, click the “Default” button, then click “Yes” on the warning dialog that pops up.
